ウチには李の木が確かにある。玄関に。
知らぬ間に二つ実をつけたのか？？？
I do have a plum tree at the front porch.
Did it have fruits this year ? really ??
わからないけれどジャムにしたらうまかった！
Don't know where they are from, but sure the jam tasted good ! 
大きくて立ち枯れたひまわり。

This gigantic sunflower reminded me of Bernard Buffet.

がっちり土を握っています。
Octopus like roots are holding the tree up so high-
この木の下は涼しく
この森を抜けると季節が変わったように暑い！
Passing through the shades of the octopus bush, out there was summer waiting to burn.
ほとんどお世話もしていないぶどう。
けなげに実をつけました。
There are 2 grape trees in my garden- not well cared so the fruit is so wild.
中近東の方ではぶどうの葉も、料理に使うとか。
初めてのお料理を習った人は
中近東料理のオーソリティだったので
時々ものすごく食べたくなるのです。
I heard they use leaves for cooking in Middle-East.
My first cook teacher, Ann was famous for middle eastern food,
so I get cravings for that exotic dish now and then.
ドルマといってぶどうの葉で包む料理が多いけれど
今回はパスタにいれてみました。
レモン塩、ミカン胡椒、ガーリックで味付け。
温泉卵を仕上げに。
もっとナツメグとか入れると本格的だったかも。
They usually use the salted leaves to wrap the meat and rice
and steam them with soup, but I use it for pasta this time.
Used Lemon salt, orange pepper for taste.
Soft boiled egg on the top-
More spice, would have been better- like nutmeg ??
Next time.
ちゃんと熟れて黒々しいのは食べて（なかなかイケル！）
少し酸っぱいのはぶどうのクラフティにしました。
And sour grapes for pudding-
卵とホットケーキミックス×豆乳で
パンケーキよりは薄めで
二つ割りしたぶどうに流し込み
魚焼き機にて約１０分。
ぶどうの甘酸っぱさがワイルドです。
冷やしておいしいと思う。
次はクリームチーズも入れて、ワインにあう感じにしよう。
Maybe next time I will put cream cheese and would be good for wine !

This painting is requested by one of my customer,
and I can show the whole thing when it is done, I think.
昨日スカぴあで新里恵美さんが出演するコンサートを見に行ってきました。
総勢４人の個性豊かな弾き手もいる贅沢なコンサートです。
連弾も楽しかったし
同じ曲をそれぞれが弾いて、味わいの違うものが出来上がったり
とてもバラエティに富んでいて、あっという間に時間が経ちました。
恵美さんのピアノには独特の柔らかさがあります。
音の輪郭がパステル画のようにふわっとしている。
それによって、別の空間ができるような
そんな不思議な気持ちになりました。
そうかと思うとアグレッシブな曲では
一本強い芯みたいなものも感じ
その豊かさを感じました。
いやーーとってもぐっと心に残る音なんです。
こちらは、その中でも私のお気に入りの
「水の反映」（ドビュッシー）です。
水のきらきらしたところや、流れるとこが見えるような演奏。
三日ほど天日干した梅漬け。瓶が熱くなるほど太陽で殺菌されました。
It is put out in the sun for 3 daysーthe jar was so hot and disinfected
右が紫蘇入り
左が白梅。
The right one is colored with shiso herb, and the left one is white plain sour plum.
塩酒を入れて 放っておくとできるって…本当にありがたいです。
Just adding salt and saki make sour plum- simple and I feel humble for that art.
こちらは紫蘇を取り出し、更に天日干しして自家製のゆかりを作ってみようかと。
This herb will be dried out in the sun and becomes seasoning for rice.
この梅漬け、今食べてもまあまあでしたが
角がとれて味が丸くなるのはもう少し置いて１、２ヶ月程だそう。
こうも暑いと
アニモー達も涼しい所を探すのに必死。
It is about 33 ℃ today-
The fury guys are looking for the cooler places
So, I pulled out the marble slate.
なので大理石を出しました。

この後すぐに退席。
But he leaves..
そこに颯爽とユーロさん登場。

という感じでうっとり寝ていました。
And nosy Euro demands it is her land-
and rests like a lady..
とらこは鼻も引っかけず。
While Torako hates that slate and detours...
うまいうまいうまい！！！！！
熟れているから包丁を入れただけで
自分で勝手に割れるんです！！
三浦の地元の人が「ここのは特別」といって下さったスイカです。
Miura city is famous for watermelon,
and it is so ripe that just one push of a knife,
it cuts in half by itself !
And the taste ! So gooooooood !
いやーーーースイカを超えました！おいしいっ!!!!!
そしてこちらはささやかなウチの収穫。
ぶどうが色づいてきました。
こちらはワイルドな味を楽しみたいと思います。

梅雨明けしたので
早速梅を日光消毒中。
梅干しではなく、
梅漬けなので瓶のまま日光に
３日ほどさらして出来上がり！
簡単！
他にも白梅が中ぐらいの瓶に３本ほどあり!
瓶を熱湯消毒なう。

今年の庭は全般的にフルーツが豊作です。
せっせと卵の殻を
花咲か爺さんのように撒いたおかげでしょうか
青いミカンのこどもがわっさりなっています。

and the baby oranges are growing fairly well.
去年の冬
思い切って剪定したいちじくも
たわわです。
あとは熟すのを待つばかり。
ところで、イチジクって生でたくさん食べると
胃がいたくなることを発見。
今年のための忘備録。イチジクは一回に２個まで。
and the figs are about to be ready in a couple of days
-and here is what I learned about figs
just for the record ,
hard trimming makes more fruits
and more than 2 raw figs makes stomachache.

昨日、ツバメ号さんにて
絵本作家の平田景さんにばったりお目にかかりました！
初めて会ったのに
そんな気がせず、
ついつい遠慮もなく
共通の仕事場、出版界のアレコレの苦労話などを話してしまったり
（いや、ほんと、たいへんなんですよー）
健闘を祈りました！
景さんの名刺には
「ヒラタエイ」というとってもお名前に似た
エイの絵も描いてあり
ぷぷっと笑ってしまいました。
私が持っているのは、平田ご夫妻の共作
三浦のすいかの話。「すいかのめいさんち」
元気なえほんです。
ほんとツバメ号さんでは
いろんな方と知り合いになれて毎回驚きがいっぱい！
そのいろんな人と交錯する
ツバメ号さんのオリジナルバック！
とっても丈夫な生地で、いっぱい絵本が入ります♪
でも大きすぎず、肩にかけてちょうどいい感じ。
このバックを持って
家路に着く途中で
近所の友達のTさんにばったり会い
もうすぐ巣立つツバメも見せてもらいました。
巣から少し離れた所に固まっている子どもツバメに
両親ツバメがまるで
「ほら、こうして飛ぶのよ！」というように
何度も旋回して見せていました。
Tさんの所では毎年ツバメがやってくるらしい。
今月末、巣立ちそうだ、と言っていました。
ツバメつながり。
summer came suddenly
just a glance of yesterday's sweater makes you sweat
But the summer clothes are under the piles…
Pulled off something light you haven't seen
but the material of the T-shirt is so thick
and that inspires---remaking the clothes !
or destroying the clothes
however the time ferments the forgetfulness
another summer comes suddenly
and another stretched out spaghetti string tank top is found 
Halterneck is the solution ! 
or hang death is the sentence..
The endless hell of the remaking again and again !
when drawing a fish, it is usually drawn crosswise.
Not very many people would to it length wisely.
what about squid ? ( me ?)
In actual life, squid feels awkward standing up.
At least that was what I thought when they were swimming in the tank in Aburatsubo Aquarium.
More like hermit crab, maybe.

Out of blue, Euro shows up behind me every time I open cans.
Even it is tomato or corn, that sound is the same as her favorite mackerel can.
Or when I sprinkle dried shaved bonito on to my Tofu, she magically pops out of nowhere.
without saying, the broiled fish…
she threats me with her big eyes
she thinks all fish in the world belongs to her.
and of course she finds her way !
Maybe her name is Euro, but she is Japanese to her bones.
夏の朝の攻防
Torako gets so hungry in summer especially early in the morning.
She never gives up, and this is her last and ultimate weapon
---putting her soft paw on my mouth
she wins-ALWAYS
and as I go right into my sleep, I always wonder why cat can bring wicked and lovable emotion at the same time---
Hop is getting old alright. He is 18 now.
His back is bent, and his feet are getting feeble.
His walk has been in only in the garden these days.
But when it comes to the food, he isn't retired at all !
a little before the dinner time, he is all excited and walks around here and there
He used to eat so tidily, his bowl looked like
it has never been used.
however, these days he needs assistant not to spilled all over .
And sometimes he sleeps with his face right in the bowl..
So I tried to get that off, but he protests he hasn't finished.
Very fussy like a critic.

これはパンが入った袋で
風にふかれてふわっと落ちた所にとらこ登場。
As she entered the room, the wind blew and the croissant crumbs in the plastic bag appears.
( and she loves butter )
バター好きのとらこ、すかさず
クロワッサンのかけらをゲット。
とらこ的には
「棚からクロワッサンのかけら」運気良しの日。

the little trip under the sea was the theme.

終わりましたが、会期中いろんな事を見直しました。
During the exhibition last month I happened to reconsider my basics
絵を描くっていう行為がその一つ。
the joy of art was one thing
こちらは一緒に描いてくれた絵。
Here is one painting what a girl drew for me.
カラフルな洋服、すごく素敵。 一番そこに熱がこもってる
The colorful dress was what she liked the most.
そしてこちらは姉妹で
わたしの絵本をみて描いてくれたもの。
And these are by the sisters who drew from the cover of my book.
何かをみて、描きたくなる、そういう気持ち。
そうだった、絵を描くって
すごく楽しい事だったんだよな、と
ぺとぺとカリカリ、何かを描くっていう行為が単純に楽しくって
上手くできると小気味良い、っていう快感がある。
Oh yes, painting is something to enjoy
simply fun sensually and then if there is some liveness in the picture
it brings joy again.

こちらはいただいたお手紙。
Here are letters i got
わたしのえほんも、そうだった、「てがみ」を描く気持ちから始まっていたんだ。
と思い出しました。
Very beginning of my art was letters.
I loved making letters with pictures and colors.
改めて、たのしいなあ、絵本つくるのは、と確認した一ヶ月でした。
This was really important for me to realize how fun it is to make pictures and stories.
大事な事思い出させてくれてありがとう！
